Judging Process

The Awards will be judged on 17th March and nominees announced

The Awards

  • There are fourteen Awards.  12 of the Awards can be entered for. The other two are chosen. All entries are judged on merit and against the criteria for that particular Award. Criteria can be found by clicking on the individual Awards. Please make sure that applications address the criteria wherever possible.  Read the parageph ‘What the Judges are looking for’ as this too will be taken into consideration.
  • Each Award is judged by a panel. Their decisions are ratified by two ratification judges, both long standing professionals and highly respected in the area. They check that there has been fair play and that the entrants meet the requirements for entry.
  • The judging panels are made up of senior representatives from sponsoring companies. Each panel has three or four judges and judges four Awards. Every year the make up of the panels changes to ensure as fair and open a process as possible.

As well as submitting the formal application form, applicants can also submit up to 3 pieces of relevant supporting evidence. Please note the key word here is ‘Relevant’.  This evidence may include testimonials, newspaper articles, accounts etc.

Entry is by written application. There is no requirement to ‘pitch’ except for the E factor Group Small a Business Award where the three finalists will be asked to attend Business Hive in Grimsby to do a short presentation. More information is available on the Small Business Award page.

All entries are free and the Awards is open to all businesses in Northern Lincolnshire, whether Chamber members or not. Chamber membership is not mentioned on the application form and is not a consideration. The judging panels are not aware of who are members of the Chamber and who are not.

The Awards will be judged on 17th March and nominees announced.

Please note the Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
